Lukers Tipple is a horse with plenty to like. Still a maiden on both the Flat and over hurdles, he has the size, scope and presence to keep progressing, and he looks every inch a future chaser when the time is right.

A Flat mark of 77 gives plenty of options — he can have another crack at a maiden or dip his toe into some valuable handicaps. Over hurdles, his rating of 116 looks very workable, and a race like the €80,000 handicap hurdle on the Saturday of the Galway Races would look tailor-made for a horse of his profile — particularly as we landed the same contest last year with a similar dual-purpose type.

He’s a very good-looking, sound horse and the type who should give his owners plenty of enjoyable days out at the big festival meetings throughout the season
